About Induction Sessions

If you’ve done Pilates before, or have no injuries, you’re welcome to book straight into a class.

However, if you have an injury or are new to Pilates, we advise that you attend an induction session first.

This is a one-hour private session which can be arranged for a time suitable for you.

In the session, you’ll complete a health screening form. Then we’ll assess your posture to identify any muscular imbalances or injuries that need to be worked on. You’ll also learn the Pilates technique.

What’s Included:

During the pilates induction session, the following are covered :

  • Breathing and core engagement (inhale, exhale, pelvic floor and transverses abdominis engagement)

  • Neutral and imprint pelvis position (how to find neutral when lying on your back, side, front)

  • Sample stretches of hamstrings and hips (using specific stretch techniques to lengthen those tight muscles)

  • Ribcage and cervical spine placement

  • Pelvis and lumbar spine stability (moving the legs whilst maintaining stability throughout the body)

  • Scapula and shoulder stability (learn how to do press-ups, side planks correctly)

  • Beginner class
